Prompting has changed beyond recognition over the past seven years. The query that extracted useful results from GPT-2 in 2019 looks nothing like what gets work done by GPT-5 today. "Useful" didn't mean the same thing back then, either.

This talk traces the evolution of how we prompt LLMs, shows how effective techniques changed in lockstep with the models themselves, and will help participants build durable prompting skills grounded in how these systems actually work.

About the Presenter:

Calum Bird's experience in AI goes back to 2019, which has put him at the centre of the AI industry from multiple angles. He's the founder of Trelent, where he's built AI tools used by over 100,000 people, and he has led technical diligence on roughly $4 billion in AI M&A deals.
