Island Design Excellence Awards Invite Greater Victoria's Technology Sector to Apply

The Island Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) are inviting applications from Greater Victoria's technology community, recognizing the role that design plays in creating products, devices and systems that solve real-world problems.

The Product Design category celebrates products that improve the way people live, work, learn, play and interact with the world. Eligible projects may include hardware, consumer products, medical devices, industrial equipment, technology, packaging systems and other designed products intended for manufacture or broad use.

Applications are open to product and industrial designers, entrepreneurs, engineers, inventors, researchers and multidisciplinary teams. The category recognizes not only thoughtful design, but the collaboration between technology, engineering and user experience that transforms innovative ideas into successful products.

Now in its second year, the Island Design Excellence Awards celebrate design excellence across Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, showcasing projects that contribute to the region's growing creative and innovation economy.

Applications for the 2026 Island Design Excellence Awards close 10 September, [an application fee applies, which includes a ticket to the event]. Applications from Indigenous designers, artists and communities are free.
