You will work closely with a collaborative team to help clients improve technology governance, operational maturity, security practices, and long-term system stability.

About the Role

This position is for a technical writer and IT governance enthusiast with a strong planning and writing mindset who is driven by a passion for precision, clarity, and creating well-governed, reliable IT systems. You will focus on creating clarity, documenting systems thoroughly, and shaping IT governance frameworks that help organizations operate securely and reliably.

If you enjoy writing policies, SOPs, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity plans while maintaining a solid technical foundation, this role is for you. You will be the bridge between technical complexity and operational clarity, ensuring systems are well-governed, secure, and fully documented.

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Management

• Support IT governance initiatives for multiple organizations, including policy creation, compliance tracking, and lifecycle planning, to harmonize and benefit from consistency and shared initiatives.
• Monitor infrastructure and system architecture to orchestrate risk management, coordinate replacing aging systems   and manage to stimulate continually for improvement
• Assist in budgeting, resource allocation, and strategic IT planning
• Collaborate with leadership to align IT operations and projects with community and  organizational goals and risk mitigation strategies

Technical Writing & Documentation

• Create, maintain, and improve clear, structured, and professional documentation:
  • IT policies, SOPs, and technical procedures
  • Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP)
  • Incident reports and root-cause analysis documentation
• Translate complex technical and security concepts into accessible language for all stakeholders
• Document change, resolutions, preventative measures, and strategic recommendations

Collaboration & Mentorship

• Work with technical teams to implement planned initiatives and improve documentation processes for repeatable success
• Work as a team to document best practices, improve security awareness, and enforce IT governance principles
• Facilitate initiatives to improve clarity, compliance, and operational efficiency

Core Skills & Qualifications

• Exceptional technical writing skills (required)
  • SOPs, policy documents, DR/BCP plans, incident reports, and diagrams
• Strong understanding of IT governance, risk management, and compliance
• Experience in IT systems, networks, and security monitoring
• Analytical mindset with focus on root-cause analysis and preventative measures
• Ability to translate technical complexity into clear, actionable documentation
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Time management****
• Detail-oriented, methodical, and consistent in written materials
• Comfortable collaborating across teams and with clients

Requirements

• Prior experience in technical writing, IT governance, or IT support
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality IT documentation
• Understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and basic security principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to remain methodical and precise under pressure
• Passion for technology, IT governance, and documentation excellence
• Reliable vehicle for client-site travel
